Bookish Weddings

Can I get remarried? Just so I can plan a book-themed wedding? There are some super creative ideas out there for word nerds who are about to tie the knot, so I thought I'd share some of my favorites.

Can't you just imagine getting married in front of this?

Love these for centerpieces. Vintage books in whatever color you need w/bouquets on top.

Another pretty bouquet, this one for the bride!

These would look adorable as boutonnieres, maybe with a single leaf of greenery off to one side.

Love this idea for the reception! Music, laughter, and...the click-clack of a typewriter.

And what better way for people to find their table-- an old card catalog!

And last but not least, this would have to go somewhere. Me thinks maybe at the bridal party table, in the middle of a row of vintage books tied w/twine and w/flowers at either end. Lovely!

Well, that was fun! Thanks for letting me indulge in recreating my wedding! *throws heart shaped book page confetti* ;)

  1. Have a party, Leandra. Maybe one for your book, and many more for subsequent ones!
(I personally think the theme of a wedding is marriage, but maybe I'm just being a stick-in-the-mud. I do like the center pieces for a book launch.)

    1. I've been thinking about making one to put on my bookcase. 'Cept w/fake flowers of course. If I started w/live ones, they'd just end up turning into mummified versions that I'd keep forgetting to throw away!

  12. I LOVE this post! My favorite is the "type the bride and groom a message" - our family was just tooling around a pawn shop yesterday for fun and came across old typewriters - the kids loved them and my hubby and I even considered getting one :)

Thanks for the visit with Kimmy at:

    1. I'd like to have the card catalogue for my office, for paperclips and what-not. Of course, then I'd feel old, b/c I actually remember using them when I was a kid, lol!

  14. Oh my, so cute. :) I love the type writer. I've seen purses made out of book covers, but not these!

    1. Yes, I'd like one of those book cover purses some day. Though they wouldn't fit much of all of the junk in my purse. =)

    1. You're welcome! I would love to renew our vows someday, but I don't think my husband would be up for all the fuss and muss. He's a strick no muss, no fuss kinda guy, lol!

  17. I love these! If I could do it over, I would totally do my flowers like that!
My sister used antique books with her center pieces, they were beautiful. :)

  18. What a fun idea. That's why writing is great, because you can pull in some of your fantasy ideas for the perfect wedding or perfect first date. I hadn't thought about what I'd do differently for my wedding, or what I'd do if I had all the money I wanted, but it'd be fun to think about.

    1. Yes, writing is great for those very reasons! I think I've yet to write about a first date... which makes me curious to try. Thx!
